Often the tops of the coils are recessed where the coil points/hardware have been overtightened causing poor point alignment. This hard fiber plate slides over the 4 point mounting studs to get your points back into alignment. U.S.A.

Years of use and overtightening cause the wooden coils to have recesses in them causing the points to set lower on the coil than they should. Shim the points with these .050 thick brass washers to get things back in line.
