These sleeves slide into the axle housing and provide the wear surface for your axle roller bearings. They are made to the original Ford print for material thickness as well as hardness. To identify the sleeves, hold the sleeve so you're looking at the V shaped slot with the V pointing down. If lubrication hole is to the left, its a left, if its to the right, its a right. U.S.A.
