This style starter rod grommet cover was used from 1928 through August of 1930. Your firewall will have a D-nut on each side of the rod hole. From the beginning of production until July of 1930 the grommet was used without the steel cover. If your firewall has D-nuts on the motor side of the firewall, the grommet mounts inside the cab. If the D-nuts are installed inside the cab, grommet mounts on motor side. U.S.A.
