There is a piece of metal going across the top of the windshield opening that looks like a piece of angle iron. The wooden header sets on top of this angle iron piece of metal. The A-174-B panel is the piece that slips up inside the windshield opening and covers the front of the wooden header. This panel also sticks inward and provides a channel for the interior panel above the windshield to rest in. The A-174-B panel has holes in it that will line up with holes in the angle iron piece of metal. When you install the windshield hinge, the wood screws will pass through the windshield hinge, through the holes in both the A-174-B and the angle iron, and then into the wooden header.
