If the brake drum rivets are loose, should the holes be drilled out and larger rivets fitted? The rivets seem to be 17/64 diameter now. What is the stock size?

The stock rivet diameter for the transmission brake drum is 7/32". When the rivets are peened, the fill the cavity of the hole. My guess is that the rivets just were not installed properly. When you install them, you leave 1-1/2 the thickness of the rivet sticking out to peen.
