How do you replace the tack material that goes inside the metal supports for a 4 door 30-31 phaeton? I believe the bows are straight so how do you handle the tackstrip that goes in the bends? Thanks Mike
Use thin strips of wood. In the repo irons, they use about 4 layers of masonite material. Cut the material in strips and taper it to match the taper of the iron. Just beat them in with a hammer, but be sure to allow enough room to get your new straight wooden bows in the end.Date Added: 12/23/04
