I have a 1930 roadster, how can I tell if I have a standard or deluxe?
Measure your windshield and/or the windshield stanchions. Standard roadster had a windshield that was
15-1/4" high overall at the end and the windshield stanchion was 13-1/4" overall. The center to center distance from the windshield pivot to the stanchion mounting stud is 10-1/2".
The deluxe roadster had a windshield that was 13-1/2" high overall at the end and the windshield stanchion was
12-1/8" overall. The center to center distance from the windshield pivot to the stanchion mounting stud is 9-1/4".
The top irons are different as well. The standard used formed light gauge steel very similar to model T top irons. The deluxe top irons were made out of bar stock steel that was chrome plated and some parts were painted a buff color. The rear bow was a steam bent piece of oak that got varnished. When you look at a deluxe roadster from the side, you can see part of the wood bow coming down the side of the top iron.
