I have demountable wheels that had the spokes replaced 18 yr. ago. I never finished them and now they are loose. Is there anything that can be done to tighten them up so I can finish them and paint them?
I have heard of people shimming the spokes, but I really do not recommend doing that as it is not safe. Even if the spokes were put in 18 years ago and never used, I do not see why they would be loose. I would suggest having them respoked.Date Added: 02/07/05
