I have a 1930 Model A. The starter does not turn good. The Battery is fine. The busing / bearing on the starter looks good too. Do you recomment replacing the starter Coil.
Many thanks
Be sure to check your battery with a hydrometer before you start replacing parts. If the battery checks out, try by passing your battery cables with a good pair of jumper cables. Run your ground from one of the starter mounting bolts directly to the ground of the battery. I have seen perfectly good looking battery cables cause a lot of problems due to corrosion under the insulation that is not visible. If all checks out there, then I would turn to the starter. If the brushes look fine, have the armerature checked and inspect the fields for missing insulation or other obvious problems.
