HI, Should the oil pump hole plug go all the way in through the block and touch the oil pump to hold it in place?? If so,what size tap would I need so the plug would go through? Thanks, Jim Choin

no, those are pipe threads. the plug should not make contact with the oil pump. The size is 1/8" pipe thread, but do not cut the threads any deeper than they are. if you run the tap in too far, the threads will not tighten up and the plug will hit the pump. when this happens, the threads will not seal and you will have an oil leak problem.
