Hello, I bought a long block from a shop. My question concerns a threaded hole that is located on the lower passenger side of the block, midway betwwen the front and back. What kind of plug goes in this hole?

It sounds like you are referring to the hole that is in line with the oil pump. This hole is 1/8" pipe thread and uses the A-6621 hole plug. This hole is check your oil pump to be sure it is pumping. Do not put a bolt in that hole as it can damage the oil pump casting.
