Head will not stop leaking water. Pulled head. Found head bolts do not line up with head holes or new gasket holes. Seems the threads in the block were drilled and tapped wrong. Head bolts head off in different directions from eachother. When pulling head
If the studs are not coming off straight, my guess is that someone has either bent the old studs or heli-coil thread inserts or something similar have been incorrectly installed. Check your block and see what the case is. We have heli-coil thread repair kits available or repair studs that are 1/2" threads on the end that threads into the block instead of 7/16". Drilling of new threads for heli-coils or something similar should be done in a drill press or with a magnetic drill so they are straight.Date Added: 02/26/05
