You have available a 12v cutout with bulbs to convert to 12v system. Does the cutout mount to the existing 6v generator and charge a 12v battery? What about using the 6v starter on 12v?
Yes, the 12-volt cut-out that we offer is designed to be used with the old 6-volt generator. The drawback to this is that you are still limited to the limited amperage output of the generator. An alternator will give you more output.
The model T starter will handle 12-volt. What I recommend you do is use 12-volt battery cable to run from the switch to the starter because it is a lighter gauge. Use a 12-volt cable that is double the length of the standard model T cable. I have done this on my own car and it does slow the starter down so the voltage is not so hard on the starter drive.
